It was late, maybe around 11 when we were walking around Old Town Square. We were just wandering around looking for something interesting to photograph when we stumbled across this couple taking their wedding photos. I knew that many couples travel from China to take their pre-wedding photos in Prague but did not expect them to do it at night.
They had an entire team with them. A photographer, someone with lights and an assistant. The couple took individual photos as well as photos together in front of the church. Everywhere they went, they carried lighting equipment, the photos probably looked like they were in broad daylight. The assistant carried the back of the brides dress so it wouldn’t get dirty.
These pre-wedding photos are part of a billion dollar industry in China. Couples will travel across the world to take their photos against a beautiful background. Many locations other than Prague include London and Paris. Other times they take their photos in China with elaborate set design as the background.
